2007/2008 Dear Honorable Friends,
The Taoist Temple Preservation Society’s 2007-2008 membership drive is in progress. Our Chinese Taoist Temple, built in the 1880’s, is one of the oldest structures in Kings County and is one of only three structures in Hanford listed on the National Register of Historic Places. China Alley and the Temple are very unique and are integral pieces of California History. Every year brings visitors of all ages from around the world.

The Temple is restored and maintained by our Society and is always in need of upkeep and repair. We are also preserving and attempting to restore other buildings in the Alley including the recently acquired L.T. Sue Herb Shop as well as 13 & 13 ½ China Alley.

13 and 13 ½ is now structurally stable and ready for continued restoration. The L.T. Sue building, however, will require extensive structural work to be saved and rehabilitated.

With your generosity we will be able to continue the process of preserving these historic cultural resources. We would like to welcome you to join us as a member so that we may carry on with our efforts. We are a non profit 501c3 organization and your contribution is tax deductible.

The categories of membership are:
Benefactor: $200.00 or more
Sustaining: $100.00
Patron: $50.00
Family: $25.00
Individual: $15.00
Student: $5.00

With your membership you will receive the privilege of a 10% discount on purchases made in our museum gift shop. The museum shop is open the first Saturday of every month and every Saturday in December.

Please indicate your level of membership and return with your kind donation.

Thank you very much for your participation in our efforts to preserve and revitalize Hanford’s historic China Alley.

Sincerely,
Arianne Wing
